TheraPlatform allows providers to enter a copay amount for a client's assigned insurance. Providers can also customize copay amounts for specific billable services, allowing a single client to have different copay amounts depending on the service they are billed for.
Important: Prior to entering copays for your clients, add all health insurance companies (insurers) that you work or contract with under Settings > Billing > Insurers.
How to Add a Copay
Once the insurance company has been added and assigned to the client, you can enter the client's copay amount through their chart.
Step 1: Log in to your TheraPlatform account.
Step 2: Click on Clients to view your list of clients.
Step 3: Select the client you would like to update.
Step 4: Select Client Details > Insurance.
Step 5: Select the insurance you would like to add or update the copay for.
Step 6: If you are adding a standard copay for the client to automatically apply to all services billed, enter the amount in the Copay field and select Save Changes.
If you need to set different copay amounts for specific services, continue with the steps below.
How to Add a Copay for a Specific Service
TheraPlatform allows you to customize the copay amount based on the specific billable service. This can be useful when a client has different copay amounts depending on the service they receive.
Step 1: From the client's Insurance section, select the insurance you would like to update.
Step 2: At the bottom of the Edit Insurance window, select More.
Step 3: Select the Copays tab.
Step 4: Select Add Copay.
Step 5: From the Services dropdown, select the billable service you would like to assign a custom copay to.
Step 6: Enter the custom copay amount for that service.
Step 7: Select Save.
Once saved, the custom copay will be associated with that specific billable service. This allows providers to have different copay amounts for the same client based on the service they are billed for in TheraPlatform.
