Therapists who are required to have their therapy notes co-sign, can also leave sticky notes (messages/alerts on their notes) for co-signers. For example, you completed a SOAP note on your client but you're not sure what to include in the plan for the next session. You can alert your co-signer about it by leaving a quick note on your therapy note.
Here are directions on how therapists can leave alerts/messages/stick notes on their therapy notes for co-signers:
Step 1: Pull up your therapy notes (e.g. SOAP, etc.)
Step 2: Once your note is opened, click on the blue button Add Alert.
Step 3: A pop-up box will pull. Leave your message on this note under Description field. For example, "I completed the note but struggled with plan for next session. Can you help?"
Step 4: Under category field, leave Documentation.
Step 5: Under recipient, select the name of the therapist/supervisor, who needs to co-sign and review your note.
Step 6: Click on Save changes.
Note: Once you save changes, the co-signer, will see both your therapy note and your alert note on the therapy note under To Do.
