TheraPlatform offers an alert note (similar to sticky note) that can be entered on all therapy notes (e.g. SOAP, progress notes, assessment. etc.) by either the author of the note or the co-signer of the note.
This feature is great for supervisors or co-signers, who need to provide feedback on the notes they are about to sign. For example, the co-signer reviews the progress note, he or she was requested to sign, but the co-signer notices that the author of the note forgot to include a plan for the next session. The co-signer can add an alert/note on this note for the author of the note and ask the author to make a change. The author can edit the note and then the co-signer can review changes and then co-sign.
Here are directions on how a co-signer can leave alert notes on any therapy notes:
Step 1: Go to TO DO and under Documentation Tab, locate the note type you wish to review or co-sign. For example, Progress Notes Co-Sign Requests.
Step 2: Click on the note type, e.g. , Progress Notes Co-Sign Requests.
Step 3: A note or a list of notes to co-sign will pull. Click on the green edit button next to the note you wish to review.
Step 4: A note will open. Review a note and if you need to add an alert (message) on the note for the author, click on Add Alert.
Step 5: A pop-up box will pull. Under description, add your short message/note for the author of the note. For example, "Please add plan for the next session. Request me to co-sign again and once you update the note, I will co-sign. Thanks!"
Step 6: Leave the category as documentation.
Step 7: Under "Select recipient", enter the name of the therapist who should get your alert/message.
Step 8: Click on Save changes.
Note: The author of the note, will see your alert/message on his/her note under To Do- Documentation- Client Alerts. The Author, can then open the note by clicking on View Note and make all the necessary changes to the note. Once the author does, the author can delete the alert on that note.
